The Detroit Pistons had no chance to beat the Milwaukee Bucks without Blake Griffin Sunday night in the first game of their first-round playoff series. And according to a report, they can’t rely on him to come back and save them any time soon.

According to Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports, Griffin “will likely miss the entire first-round series” against Milwaukee due to his left knee injury.

Goodwill reports there is a “slim chance” that Griffin could return to action by next weekend, which means he’ll miss the team’s next few games. By that time, this series could easily be over given how easy it was for Milwaukee to dispatch Detroit Sunday night.

After the blowout loss, Griffin, who somehow earned a technical from the bench in Game 1, was upset about his inability to contribute.

“Obviously, it’s very, very frustrating. You sacrifice your body throughout the year and play through little injuries to get to this point,” Griffin said, per Detroit News. “Obviously, very frustrated. I never like to feel like I’m leaving my guys out there.”

This past year, Griffin was clearly Detroit’s best overall player. He averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists playing in 75 games.
