The Los Angeles Clippers have announced that Blake Griffin’s four-game suspension begins today, on Easter Sunday, per ESPN’s Marc Stein.

The move comes just one day after Griffin began practicing with the team following his two-month absence. He initially left the lineup when a quad injury forced him out but then infamously punched a team assistant equipment manager during his rehab.
It was this punch that landed him in the team doghouse. Not only did Griffin embarrass the organization with his poor judgement, but he also broke his hand in the process.
All that is about to be behind both Griffin and the Clippers.
Should he be ready to play following the suspension, Griffin will come back into the lineup on April 3 against the Washington Wizards at home. This means he’d have seven games to get back into the flow of things before the playoffs begin.
Before getting injured originally, Griffin was averaging 23.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and five assists per game. His presence back in the lineup couldn’t come at a better time. In addition to the upcoming postseason tourney, the Clippers have been on a downturn of late, losing three in a row before eking out a two-point win over the Portland Trailblazers in their last contest.
