Bengals reportedly re-sign TE Tyler Eifert with one-year deal

Tyler Eifert

The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t ready to give up on oft-injured tight end Tyler Eifert just yet. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter Cincinnati and Eifert have agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports the deal is worth up to $8 million.

When healthy, Eifert is a tremendous red-zone weapon. He’s caught 20 touchdowns in 39 career games, along with 127 receptions for 1,357 yards.

Unfortunately, good health has been a tough thing for Eifert to come by. He’s missed 22 games the past two seasons due to injury, starting just two games in that stretch of time. If he can stay healthy and put together a strong season, then Eifert will likely be a top target in free agency again next year, barring a long-term deal with the Bengals.
