NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport is among the most-respected insiders in the business. Just don’t tell that to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
In shooting down Rapoport’s recent report that he played through cracked ribs last week against the New England Patriots, Big Ben absolutely torched the media personality.
The quarterback’s comments came on a local radio station and pretty much called into question Rapoport’s reputation as an insider.
Roethlisberger not fan of Rapaport: On his @937theFan show today about report he suffered cracked ribs: “You shouldn’t even say his name on this show because nothing that comes from what he says is there any truth to …we aren’t even going to give that guy credence on this show”

“You shouldn’t even say his name on this show because nothing that comes from what he says is there any truth to,” Roethlisberger said. We aren’t even going to give that guy credence on this show.”
Yeah, there’s absolutely no hard feelings here.
We rarely see players take a stance like this against reporters. Sure there’s some bad blood every once in a while. But Big Ben took his criticism to the next level.
One really has to wonder what set the future Hall of Fame quarterback off. What we do know is that there won’t be any holiday cards in Rapoport’s inbox from the veteran signal caller.
