Baker Mayfield throws serious shade at Antonio Brown on Instagram

Baker Mayfield was compared to Antonio Brown by a fan on Instagram Friday, and he responded with some serious shade directed at the receiver, who is currently out of the league.

Mayfield posted a message to his Instagram account that included a picture of himself as a collegiate student-athlete at Oklahoma. His caption read, “Just some undersized Walk On… Keep that same energy.”

Responding to this, a fan wrote, “Win football games. That speaks louder than these AB’ish style posts.”

Mayfield wasn’t having that. In the process of defending himself, he took a serious swipe at Brown, writing, “you’re right… let me call out my teammates and throw a fit about my helmet then go freeze my feet off.”

Harsh words.

To be completely objective here, Mayfield has taken a shot at one of his former teammates — running back Duke Johnson, who was traded to Houston. In fact, many of his veteran teammates called him out for doing just that.

But hey, he hasn’t thrown a fit about his helmet, nor frozen his feet off.

Then again, Mayfield hasn’t done much winning so far this year, either. And his play has a lot to do with the team’s 1-2 record through three weeks. So maybe he should focus on that, rather than responding to people on Instagram.
