Austin FC signed midfielder Ethan Finlay to a two-year contract on Monday.

Financial terms were not disclosed by the team for Finlay, who has recorded 49 goals and 42 assists in 245 career games (173 starts) with the Columbus Crew and Minnesota United FC. He has also made three appearances with the United States Men’s National Team.

“Ethan is a very strong addition to the Club,” said Claudio Reyna, Austin FC’s sporting director. “He possesses quality and experience, both of which will be valuable as we continue to grow and improve heading in to 2022. We can’t wait to welcome him to Austin.”

Finlay, 31, had three goals and three assists in 30 games (19 starts) last season with Minnesota United.

He expressed his anticipation to join Austin FC in a release by the team.

“My family and I are excited to be joining Austin FC and experience all that the great city of Austin has to offer,” Finlay said. “I have always respected and admired Claudio and Josh (Wolff, head coach) throughout their careers, so a chance to be a part of this organization was something I could not pass up. I hope to bring leadership and a winning culture to this young but prolific club.”
