No. 1 seed Hubert Hurkacz of Poland will meet No. 2 Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain in Sunday’s final at the Moselle Open in Metz, France.

Both players were tested in Saturday’s semifinals, with Hurkacz defeating German qualifier Peter Gojowczyk 6-4, 7-6 (4) and Carreno Busta edging third-seeded Frenchman Gael Monfils 7-5, 7-6 (8).

Hurkacz, seeking his third tour-level title of the season, saved two of three break points and withstood 10 aces by Gojowczyk. Carreno Busta saved four set points in the second-set tiebreak before putting away Monfils, who won this event in 2009.

Carreno Busta won the only previous meeting with Hurkacz on the ATP Tour last month in Cincinnati.

Astana Open

Unseeded Australian James Duckworth advanced to his first ATP Tour final by defeating No. 8 seed Ilya Ivashka of Belarus 6-3, 7-6 (4) in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

Ranked No. 65 in the world, the 29-year-old Duckworth has yet to drop a set this week. He saved two set points at 4-5 in the second set before eliminating Ivashka in two hours and two minutes.

Duckworth’s opponent Sunday will be South Korea’s Soonwoo Kwon, who knocked off No. 2 seed Alexander Bublik 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. Kwon, who also reached his first tour-level final, saved eight of 10 break points — six of seven in the second set.
