At least two Raiders voted Khalil Mack No. 1 player in NFL Top 100

One of the biggest stories from the 2018 NFL season was the Oakland Raiders trading superstar pass rusher Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears. One of the longest-running gags around the league since then has been just how bad that deal has looked for the Raiders.

Of course the money stat here is that the Raiders — as a team — have tallied less sacks than Mack has this year all by himself. He’s a legitimate MVP candidate who has been key to Chicago winning the NFC North and establishing itself as a contender for the NFC title.

Not surprisingly, at least some of his former teammates in Oakland still think very highly of him, voting him No. 1 in the annual NFL Top 100 list put put by NFL Films.

It wouldn’t be hard to argue that the two players who divulged they voted Mack No. 1 let it be known out of frustration for how things have gone in Oakland without him.

It’s also not hard to make the case that Mack has been the best player in the league this year. Unfortunately his midseason absences due to injury have somewhat hampered his ability to lead the league in sacks, but it could be argued he’s made more big plays on defense (like this) than any other player around the league.
