Antonio Brown on JuJu Smith-Schuster: I am who he wants to be

Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown is currently out of the NFL with an investigation into accusations of sexual misconduct still hanging over his head, but in his mind former teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster wishes he could be AB.

It’s a bit of twisted logic that Brown shared in an appearance with The Fan Morning Show on 93.7 Thursday morning.

Brown and Smith-Schuster traded barbs over social media throughout last offseason following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ decision to trade their former superstar receiver to the Oakland Raiders. All too often, Brown used his energy and time to bash his former protege.

Though, this time around, it seems like once more Brown is making a valid point while coming across in exactly the wrong way. Yes, Smith-Schuster and the Steelers are coming off a very disappointing 2019 campaign in which the young receiver only caught 42 passes for 552 yards and three touchdowns.

But Smith-Schuster is still playing ball in the NFL, while Brown is not. And furthermore, the Steelers had to manage with backup quarterbacks last season while Ben Roethlisberger recovered from season-ending elbow surgery. And you have to imagine both he and Smith-Schuster — along with the entire team — will bounce back in a big way next season.

Meanwhile, it’s not yet known if Brown will be playing in the NFL any time soon, if at all, as the league continues to investigate his off-field problems.

So, we’re pretty sure Smith-Schuster isn’t exactly itching to swap shoes with Brown, any time soon.
