Anthony Davis, Pelicans to continue discussing future after meeting

Anthony Davis met with New Orleans Pelicans executive vice president David Griffin on Wednesday, and the two are expected to continue discussing his future.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN shared this insight, noting that Griffin is “making his case to AD on a future with the Pelicans.”

Davis, of course, openly requested a trade during last season and was fined $50,000 for doing so.

The superstar has not changed his stance of late, even after the Pelicans landed the No. 1 overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft — essentially securing Duke star Zion Williamson in the process. Davis, who will be a free agent after the 2019-20 season, has no shortage of potential suitors.

However, if Griffin can convince Davis that the Pelicans are serious about building a contender and that his future will be best served staying with the franchise, things will get awfully interesting around the NBA.
