Anthony Davis (ankle) out for Tuesday’s game vs. Pacers

Anthony Davis Defensive Player of the Year

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without star forward Anthony Davis for Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers with an ankle injury.

The team announced just two hours tipoff that Davis will be sidelined as the team seeks to win its eighth consecutive game. He suffered the injury to his right ankle during Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Given he came into the night listed as questionable by the team, the injury is likely minor and his status will be monitored and updated on a day-to-day basis.

Davis has given the Lakers everything they hoped for when they acquired him this offseason. He is averaging 27.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.5 steals per game this year.

The Lakers will hope Davis can return to action on Thursday, when the team faces the Milwaukee Bucks in a clash of the NBA’s two best teams.
