News coming out of Minnesota Wednesday indicating that Jimmy Butler has requested a trade from the Timberwolves has thrown the NBA world for a loop.
Considered one of the best two-way players in the Association, Butler’s time in Minnesota will likely now come to an end after just one season. It’s seemingly going to be an ugly divorce, especially considering Butler’s relationship with teammates Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns (more on that here).
It now looks like Wiggins’ brother is preparing to take this feud to an entirely new level. Following the report that Butler did in fact request a trade, Nick Wiggins took to Twitter to show his pleasure.

This is absolutely insane stuff right here. It’s obviously Andrew Wiggins’ way of throwing shade in the direction of his soon-to-be former teammate. There’s no reason to believe that Nick would have taken to social media to show his pleasure without the young Wolves wing having shaded Butler behind the scenes.
It adds yet another layer to what promises to be an ugly scene between now and the time Butler is dealt.
