Having not thrown the football in live game action since Week 17 of the 2016 season, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is back in action.
The Colts announced on Wednesday that Luck will start their preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks later in the week.
It’s been a long road to recovery for a former Pro Bowler in Luck who underwent shoulder surgery back in January of 2017. Since then, the 28-year-old signal caller hit numerous bumps in the road as he attempted a return to the field.
By starting Luck in its preseason opener, Indianapolis is making it clear that it believes he’s 100 percent and ready to go. That has to be considered great news for the franchise quarterback and his fledgling organization.
Having shown himself well during camp, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Luck hit fire out of the gate. He’s seemingly already in pre-injury form. If so, it would represent one of the biggest storylines for the 2018 NFL season.
