NHL training camps opened today with much fanfare and media buzz. In the midst of all that excitement the NHL announced its updated number of positive COVID-19 cases with the 5PM deadline to inform teams if a player will opt out looming.

Unless news breaks late, it appears the final list is in.

NHL Players opting out

The first player to opt out of returning to play was Travis Hamonic of the Calgary Flames on Friday night. The very next day he was joined by five other players including Edmonton Oilers trade deadline acquisition, Mike Green.
