Adrian Peterson’s Dad Says His Son “Is Open to Returning to the Vikings”

Reportedly Minnesota Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson’s father, Nelson Peterson, was under the impression that certain members of the Vikings’ organization were working against his son being reinstated back into the NFL. Attempting to set the record straight on behalf of Peterson, Nelson had this to say (via the Pioneer Press).

He is open to returning to the Vikings. He hasn’t closed the door on saying, ‘I won’t play for the Vikings.’ He hasn’t demanded a trade.

Kevin Warren was a major player in the push last year to not have Adrian reinstated. We had our sources that we knew that Kevin wasn’t working for Adrian to get him back on the field and was working to keep Adrian off the field.

This news from the Peterson family comes despite recent reports that Peterson claimed he wants to play for the Dallas Cowboys.

Reportedly, the Vikings declined to comment, instead brushed off inquiries about Warren to remarks made by the president a couple of weeks ago. At that time, Warren said the team would welcome back Peterson.

Many of these issues could be solved by money. According to reports, Peterson feels he lost nearly $10 million between his salary and endorsements last year. Should Minnesota guarantee some money from his 2016 salary, that might help both sides come to an agreement.

This will certainly be a hot topic to monitor as Peterson’s reinstatement date of April 15 inches closer.
