Aaron Rodgers spotted in gallery for Jordan Spieth at PGA Championship

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was busy slinging footballs in Massachusetts on Thursday night, but the reigning NFL MVP followed a dominant athlete on Friday.

Jordan Spieth, the winner of The Masters and U.S. Open in 2015 on the PGA Tour, is currently in Kohler, Wisconsin, at Whistling Straits for the 2015 PGA championship. According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Rodgers joined the gallery following Spieth.

After shooting a five-under 67 on Friday, Spieth was told about the Packers quarterback. Spieth noted Rodgers is one of his favorite athletes and said:

“I wasn’t aware that he was out there but I think it’s really cool that he’s a fan of the sport and that he would come down to watch considering they had a game last night.”

Rodgers and the Packers were in Foxboro taking on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and Green Bay earned a 22-11 victory in its 2015 preseason opener. However, the team returned to Wisconsin, and Rodgers made the quick trip to the course overlooking Lake Michigan.

Spieth is looking to become only the fourth golfer to win at least three majors in one year. Perhaps Rodgers will be back in attendance to see if Speith can make that happen.
