Aaron Rodgers Can’t Guarantee He Will Play Week 17

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers sustained a calf injury in Sunday’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rodgers, who also was battling a the flu during this game, commented about his tweaked calf and health status for for Week 17 (via ESPN.com).

I’ll be OK for next week. (I) hurt my calf pretty good, but the training staff helped me kind of get through it. Just put some heat on and just tried to push through it.

It’s too early to give a 100 percent guarantee, but it would definitely take a lot to hold me out of that game

While it doesn’t sound like Rodgers expects the calf injury to hamper him in Week 17, he certainly didn’t look 100 percent in Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. Despite his limitations, Rodgers helped lead the the team to victory, which sets them up to battle for the NFC North title in Week 17 when the the Packers host the Detroit Lions.

Surely Rodgers will be doing everything he can to heal up and feel 100 percent for this crucial division meeting next Sunday.
