The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the NFL’s most dangerous offenses, and standout receiver A.J. Green is confident the team can keep up its outstanding start to the 2015 season.
According to Jim Owczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Green said the Bengals typically don’t change their style depending on the opponent because the offense has so many weapons.
“We just stay true to our offense, man. We run our offense. We don’t change for a lot of people. We have so many weapons. So if the first option is not open, the second or third or fourth option could be open. It’s hard to double any one of us on offense. We got to keep playing and keep getting better because the sky’s the limit for this team.”
Since Green is an elite wideout, he demands the most attention and is often double-teamed—deservedly so, too. The 27-year-old shredded the Baltimore Ravens for 10 receptions, 227 yards and two touchdowns.
However, if a secondary is focused on limiting Green’s impact, it leaves them vulnerable all over the field.
The Buffalo Bills shaded coverage and rolled safeties in attempt to contain Green, but Marvin Jones exploded for nine catches, 95 yards and a score, while Tyler Eifert and Jeremy Hill each caught a touchdown. Giovani Bernard added 73 total yards and reached the end zone once.
Quarterback Andy Dalton deserves a ton of credit for assembling—so far—the best season of his NFL career, and offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is solidifying himself as a top candidate for impending coaching vacancies.
As long as Dalton, who has thrown 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions, continues playing efficiently, the sky truly is the limit for the 6-0 Bengals.
