There’s a lot of buzz right now that Odell Beckham Jr. could end up being traded by the New York Giants, despite what co-owner John Mara has said about the receiver not being on the block. One of OBJ’s peers, A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals, thinks that’s just ridiculous.
In an appearance on NFL Network (h/t SportsCenter), Green said of the trade talk, “That’s stupid, man. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime, or once-in-a-generation talent, man, and you’ve got to be ready. I think he’ll get paid. They not that crazy.”
Probably not, but there’s too much smoke for there to be no fire underneath all this.
Speaking of getting paid, Beckham’s desired salary likely has a lot to do with why this is even a topic to begin with (more on that here).
The Los Angeles Rams have been mentioned as a team that’s hot to trot for Beckham. The San Francisco 49ers are also reportedly very interested in landing the superstar. You’d have to believe any team besides the Giants would love to add the receiver, as talented as he is.
But not all teams have the cap space and draft capital — New York reportedly wants two first-round picks — to land him and pay him. On that note, here are some teams that we think could make a play.
