NFL officials in mid-season form with terrible call during Texans-Chiefs opener

Chiefs' Travis Kelce argues with official during NFL game
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs really don’t need the zebras doing them any favors on the field. As we saw in the first half of their season opener against the Texans, these Chiefs are fully capable of embarrassing their opponents.

Unfortunately for the Texans, they were on the wrong end of a horrible call late in the second quarter with Kansas City up 14-7.

It came in the form of what officials on hand at Arrowhead Stadum in Kansas City deemed a horse collar tackle by Texans linebacker Zach Cunningham on Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce.

It was just an atrocious call and set up the Chiefs for a chip-shot 29-yard field goal to take a double-digit lead into the half.

Those watching the game were having none of it.
