One of the greatest golfers of all-time, the legendary Tiger Woods has also been a major supporter of youth sports and communities throughout the United States.
Woods is now taking that to a whole new level. Through his TGR Foundation and in unison with the United States Tennis Association and the Walt Disney Company, Woods is helping erect a huge 87-acre youth sports facility for at-risk children in Carson, California.
The foundation has committed a whopping $50 million to help build The Carol Kimmelman Athletic and Academic Campus. It’s going to be something else.
- Several full size soccer fields
- basketball courts
- Track and field venues
- fitness centers
- play areas
- golf areas
- Learning centers
“The need to invest in the futures of under served kids has never felt more urgent,” Woods said, via Business Wire. “We have a unique opportunity to do something impactful right now that will create lasting positive change for generations.”
A native of California, Woods is doing his best to prop up communities that continue to be hit hard by high unemployment rates, a lack of education and crime.
Worth an estimated $800 million, Woods more than has the capability and platform to help enact change. That’s exactly what he’s doing here.
