LOOK: Pittsburgh Pirates-Minnesota Twins game experiences in-game drone delay

Drone during MLB game

The 2020 MLB season has already been full of strange moments and plenty of delays. Tuesday’s game between the Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates took things to another level when a drone flew over the field and caused a delay.

One of the strangest moments in baseball came in the middle of the fifth inning with Twins ace José Berríos on the mound and looking to throw a shutdown inning. After recording the first two outs, umpires called everyone off the field when a drone was spotted flying over them.

The sudden and unusual delay caused immediate frustration in both clubhouses and left both teams baffled at the events that were suddenly unfolding.

Without any clear signs of a way to bring down the drone immediately, players decided to take the matter into their own hands. Unfortunately, they were not very successful with their attempts to bring it down.

After several minutes, the drone mysteriously disappeared and went towards the parking lot. Once the skies were clear, both teams were allowed to return to the field and the game resumed.
