Warriors star Stephen Curry to host PGA Tour event next year?

By now, it’s well known that Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry is pretty darn good on the links. He’s taken part in several pro-am golf events. He also took part in the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae back in 2018.

Curry could now be in line to take on an even larger role around the golf world.

Stephen Curry could host PGA Tour event in Northern California next year

“The PGA Tour would not comment on the report, which said the contract would cover at least five years and begin in September of 2021, and the event would likely be the first of the 2021-22 schedule,” ESPN’s Bob Harig reported.

Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle notes that the event would take place at Harding Park in San Francisco. That’s the current host site for the Presidents Cup.

Star athletes taking to golf

Curry is one of the best known athletes to take a liking to the links. Though, there’s a number of other high-profile athletes intrigued by golf. It was just recently that Peyton Manning and Tom Brady took part in a charity event that includes pros Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

That was a major hit, leading to speculation that Curry and others could fall in line here soon.

It’s also already known that retired former NFL player and current CBS analyst Tony Romo is darn good on the green.
