The United States has lost its handle on COVID-19, if it ever really had one. As cases continue to spike everywhere, Las Vegas who was all but made official as a hub city is now out.

NHL Insiders are reporting that both the Canadian cities of Toronto and Edmonton will be made the East and West hubs. respectively. This is expected to be voted on by Friday or Saturday.

NHL will return to the Olympics

The NHL and NHLPA negotiated late into the night on many topics. Aside from the hub cities mentioned above, they talked about Phase 3 and 4 Return to Play Protocols. They are working to extend the CBA with a flat cap of $81.5 million for the next two years, which isn’t good news.

One bright spot coming out of Tuesday night’s talks was an NHL return to the Olympics. If they can work out the final details with the IOC, we could see NHL players participate in both 2022 and 2026.
