Sports world reacts to MLB handing out suspensions to Dodgers

Joe Kelly almost hits Alex Bregman during Dodgers-Astros game
Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

Hot takes. Plenty of them. Fresh off Major League Baseball announcing that it has suspended Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly eight games and manager Dave Roberts one game, there’s a big time buzz around the sports world.

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, it’s well known that Kelly was seen throwing behind Houston Astros star Alex Bregman and taunting his teammate, Carlos Correa, during Tuesday’s game.

The obvious backdrop here is the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal that resulted in harsh discipline earlier this year. It’s a scandal that started during the 2017 season, a year that culminated in Houston defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series.

Using baseballs as a weapon. Cheating cheaters. In today’s hot take society, opinions were flying around the sports world at a near never-ending clip after MLB handed down its suspensions Wednesday.
