Kentrell Brothers, a free agent linebacker who spent his first four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, has been suspended nine games.
Per Field Yates of ESPN, Brothers will be suspended the first nine games of the coming season — his second NFL suspension.
Kentrell Brothers was suspended for PEDs in 2018
Back in April of 2018, the NFL suspended Brothers four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Given that this second suspension is for nine games, and reviewing the NFL’s Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances, it appears Brothers is in Step 2 of the process after having tested positive for PEDs a second time.
A former fifth-round pick out of Missouri, Brothers has been a key special-teams player for Minnesota since his rookie season. Last season, he started one game — his first NFL start. Over the course of his four-year career, Brothers has tallied 55 tackles and one sack.
