More than a decade after his unlikely Hall of Fame career came to an end, quarterback Kurt Warner is about to make it on the big screen.

“We’ve been involved in this process for a long time trying to find the right people to be involved because we have always said we’d rather not make the movie than make it wrong,” Warner said, via the Arizona Cardinals’ official website. “We want to do it right and make sure it’s the story we want to tell, inspiring and uplifting and encouraging to people.”
Warner, who has been heavily involved in the writing process, will be played by actor Zachary Levi. He’s best known for playing a big role in the longstanding NBC comedy “Chuck.” Levi is pumped about this opportunity.
The Kurt Warner story is something else
Warner starred in college at the University of Northern Iowa. He went undrafted back in 1994, making a brief appearance with the Green Bay Packers in training camp. Once released, Warner was hard up for money and took a job as a stocker for Hy-Vee grocery store.
Warner’s travels would take him through the Arena Football League and NFL Europe before he ultimately latched on with the then St. Louis Rams towards the end of the 1997 season.
Though, it would not be until Trent Green suffered an injury during the 1999 season that Warner became a household name around the NFL world.

His first year as a starter back in 1999 saw Warner lead the Rams to a 13-3 record and a shocking Super Bowl win over the Titans. He threw for 4,353 yards with a league-best 41 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Warner followed that up by leading the NFL in completion percentage (68.7), passing yards (4,830) and touchdowns (36) in 2001.
After dealing with injuries his final couple seasons with the Rams and following a disastrous one-year stint with the Giants, Warner turned his career around with the Arizona Cardinals.
He threw 100 touchdowns compared to 59 interceptions in five seasons with the team. That included a Super Bowl berth in 2008 and a deep run into the playoffs during his final NFL season the following year.
Needless to say, seeing Warner’s story on the big screen is going to be something else.
