Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill has already accomplished an extraordinary amount in his NFL career. Now, the reigning Super Bowl champion and four-time Pro Bowl selection is setting his sights on a wildly lofty milestone for the 2020 NFL season.

Tyreek Hill vying for record-breaking NFL season

Hill is one of the NFL’s best home-run threats today and plays a prominent role in one of the most explosive offenses. However, we didn’t see that same level of greatness from Hill in a disappointing 2019 season statistically. But, the 26-year-old is planning to rebound this year in historic fashion.

Coming off a campaign that saw him record just 860 receiving yards last year, Hill is setting the highest goal for his stats this season.

“One of my goals is, in all of my YouTube videos, I’ve been saying I want to get 2,000 receiving yards,” Hill said on the “Getcha Popcorn Ready” podcast, (H/T The Kansas City Star). “That’s like a whole other level. That’s like Mamba mentality though for me. I’ve got to stay locked in. I’ve got to get the proper rest. I’ve got to put the right things in my body. For the game, it’s going to be easy then. That’s been my main goal and my main thing this year.”

While we’ve seen running backs eclipse the 2,000-yard mark on the ground, no receiver has ever hit the milestone. Calvin Johnson came the closest in 2012, finishing 36 yards shy of history. In fact, he is the only player to eclipse 1,9000 receiving yards in a single season.

The situation in Kansas City seems perfect to hit the mark. Patrick Mahomes is easily the NFL’s best quarterback and his connection with Hill is unmatched. Plus, Andy Reid’s offense loves to put the football in Hill’s hands.

Tyreek Hill’s stats from the 2018 season show he is capable of greatness. He nearly surpassed 1,500 receiving yards on 87 receptions, averaging an absurd 17 yards per catch. We know this All-Pro talent is putting in the work to take the next step in his career, but this goal is lofty.

If Hill can make it happen, which would likely require 115-plus receptions, he will quickly be building an early case to be a Hall of Famer years from now.
