Baltimore Ravens star and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson had a close call with a jet ski recently, but thankfully he’s going to be okay.

For Lamar Jackson, a jet ski was a frightening plot twist

Jackson was playing beach football with friends recently. Video from the fun in the sun circulated showing off Jackson on a scramble drill. It was all fun and games until the last moment, when Jackson just barely leaped over the top of a jet ski parked near the shore.

It looked like quite a close call, and the reactions from fans watching that video were full of high anxiety.

Good news! Lamar Jackson wasn’t hurt in the incident

Following up on this wild story, ESPN’s Jamison Hensley reported Monday that Jackson was not injured in the incident.

The Ravens may choose to have a discussion with Jackson about playing beach football. As noted by Hensley, “There’s no word on whether the Ravens will restrict Jackson from playing beach football. In 1998, New England Patriots rookie running back Robert Edwards severely injured his knee during a beach football game at the Pro Bowl; the NFL later canceled any more ‘Rookie Beach Bowl’ games.”

The Ravens are counting on Lamar Jackson to continue putting up jaw-dropping stats

In his first full season as an NFL starter last year, Jackson became the second person in NFL history to win the MVP award unanimously. He put up incredible stats, passing for 3,127 yards with 36 touchdowns while rushing for 1,206 yards (NFL record for quarterbacks in a single season) and seven touchdowns.

The team has loaded up on offense this spring in the draft and figures to feature Jackson’s arm even more in 2020. We can’t wait for him to pick up where he left off. And in the meantime, we wouldn’t be too upset if he ditched beach football forever.
