Saints star Michael Thomas donates 3,000 meals to COVID-19 frontline workers

The true heroes in this fight against the global COVID-19 pandemic are the frontline workers who are putting everything on the line to help others.

Doctors, medics, nurses and the administrative staffs have not thought twice about giving up their sense of safety in order to tend to the sick. In many cases, this has led to them getting sick and some even dying from the virus.

It’s now important that we do our best to lift them up. New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, is answering the call.

Thomas is teaming up with fast-food giant Raising Cane’s to donate 3,000 meals to local frontline workers in the New Orleans area.

“I wanted to do my part and support our frontline healthcare workers who are caring for so many in our community,” Thomas said, via the Saints’ official website. “I thought they would enjoy having some Cane’s during their shift. And I’m grateful to my friend, Todd Graves (Raising Canes, CEO/Founder), for joining me in letting our healthcare workers know how much they are appreciated.”

Even if it is for a bit of a reprieve during these most difficult times, feeding frontline workers has proven to be a necessity. This will go a long way in helping those behind he masks in our hospitals and other medical facilities.

Thomas, 27, has seen his career take off big time since the Saints made him a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Ohio State product is coming off a 2019 campaign that saw him record 149 receptions for 1,725 yards.

Now a part of the tight-knit New Orleans community, Thomas is doing his part to help those most impacted by the pandemic.
