Report: Teams have called Dolphins about former top-10 pick

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots 2019 season

The Miami Dolphins’ decision to select quarterback Tua Tagovailoa No. 5 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft came with a ton of fanfare in South Beach.

Prior to suffering a serious hip injury last season at Alabama, Tua was considered the consensus No. 1 prospect in the draft. Miami had been chasing after him for more than a calendar year.

Said move also places into question the future of former No. 10 overall pick Josh Rosen with the Dolphins.

According to NFL Media’s Michael Giardi, the Dolphins have fielded calls regarding the young quarterback. They have yet to pull the trigger. But something could be on the horizon.

Underrated veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will likely start for Miami next season. While Tua is said to be 100%, it’s not yet known whether he’ll see action as a rookie. That could lead to Miami hanging on to Rosen for the short term.

The 10th overall pick of the Arizona Cardinals back in 2018, Rosen was dealt to Miami during the 2019 NFL Draft. He was never really given an opportunity under then first-year head coach Brian Flores.

A change of scenery could definitely be in order for the former UCLA standout.
