Report: NFL player suing United Airlines over alleged sexual harassment, assault

An anonymous NFL player is suing United Airlines following allegations that the company didn’t handle his reporting of alleged sexual harassment and assault by a woman on the plane.

According to Bleacher Report’s Master Tesfatsion, the unnamed player alleges the assault occurred on Feb. 10 during a redeye flight from Los Angeles to Newark. According to the allegations, the woman made multiple unwanted sexual advances on the player and flight staff didn’t step in until after the fourth complaint.

According to the lawsuit, the woman asked the player why he wore a face mask during the flight and he explained it was to exercise safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. The player claimed the woman was intoxicated and made several advances on him, including grabbing his mask and his groin.

The unidentified NFL player and another man, listed as John Doe 2 on the lawsuit, are seeking compensatory and punitive damages against the airline. The lawsuit seeks damages for violation of unruh acts, sexual assault and sexual battery, among seven total complaints.
