Redskins legend Dexter Manley tests positive for COVID-19

Washington Redskins linebacker Dexter Manley

The Washington Redskins and the rest of the NFL world is dealing with a scary situation right now.

According to former Washington Redskins star Daryl Grant, all-time franchise leader in sacks Dexter Manley has tested positive for COVID-19.

“He tried to shake it,” Grant said in a Facebook post, via NBC Sports Washington. “14 days of fever trying to be a boss. His daughter Dalis told me this.”

Ben Standig of The Athletic adds that Manley started feeling symptoms about 10 days ago. He’s said to be resting and in no imminent danger.

Manley, 61, played in the NFL from 1981-91. He earned two Super Bowl titles as a member of the Redskins for nine seasons. The former Pro Bowler holds the franchise record with 91 career sacks.

Our thoughts are obviously with Manley as he battles this virus.
