The baseball world was shocked and outraged last September after hearing that two-time Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star closer Felipe Vázquez was arrested in Pennsylvania on charges that he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl back in 2017. Since suspended by MLB, Vázquez was also facing charges of sending nude pictures and photos to the alleged victim.
Now comes this piece of information from TMZ Sports indicating that the 28-year-old reliever is facing another charge of furnishing pornographic materials to a juvenile. The alleged incident occurred back in July of last year and is said to have included the same girl in question. It came mere hours after he recorded a save against the Cardinals.
Vázquez remains behind bars without bond. His next court appearance is slated for June 23. The Venezuela remains suspended by Major League Baseball. In all, he’s facing nearly two dozen charges.
