More than ever, these trying times make us appreciate an uplifting story. A way to get our minds off the tragic loss of 100,000-plus Americans due to the ongoing pandemic and the racial divisions tearing this nation apart.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Zay Jones shared that type of story on Saturday. The former Buffalo Bills early-round pick was in a Home Goods store in the Las Vegas area where he ran into a white woman.

The rest comes directly from Jones and is as inspiring as anything we’ve seen during a difficult era in American history.

Jones continued by saying “beautiful hearts still exist. Be the example. be the light. Love others.”

I am not crying. Those onions are just too strong.

This comes mere days after an African-American man by the name of George Floyd was murdered by a now-former Minneapolis Police Department officer in the Twin Cities.

Since then, riots and protests have broken out throughout the United States. Star players have continued to speak out.

But just this once, the story of humanity at its best stands above the rest.
