The NFL may play games in empty stadiums this season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Philadelphia Eagles star receiver DeSean Jackson wants the NFL to mic up every player to give fans unprecedented access into what it’s like on game days.

Speaking with teammate Lane Johnson on his “Outside the Lane” show, Jackson said the NFL should mic everyone up. He wants to give fans access into “what really goes on in between the white lines.” Jackson added that “It gets crazy.”

Sign me up! If fans aren’t at stadiums, personally I’d much rather hear what goes on during the game on the field than listen to piped-in noise.

As we’ve learned from watching Bundesliga, that’s a weird experience.

The obvious trick to this would be that players tend to curse quite often with extremely colorful language on game days. So, the league would have to set up quite a delay to account for the need to edit sound. Or, it could just slap a warning label on the broadcasts and let it fly. That’s obviously not happening, but for the adults watching it would be an enlightening experiencing.

Here’s the full “Outside the Lane” episode in which Jackson delved into this topic.
