CeeDee Lamb sets record straight about whether Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones pressured him to wear No. 88

CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys

There’s been a lot of talk about whether Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones pressured CeeDee Lamb to wear the famed No. 88 jersey. Now the first-round rookie receiver is setting the record straight.

CeeDee Lamb says Jerry Jones did not pressure him to wear No. 88

Lamb shared Thursday that it was his choice to pick No. 88.

“”I had the option of 10 or 88 and I picked 10,” Lamb said, per Jeff Cavanaugh of 105.3 The Fan. “Then I went more in depth of the situation and the tradition and how much that number means to the organization and it was kinda like why not keep that tradition going.”

When asked if he was pressured by Jones, Lamb said, “Nah, nah, not at all.”

So there you have it.

Lamb joins legends Drew Pearson and Michael Irvin, along with Dez Bryant, as big-name receiver to wear the Dallas Cowboys No. 88 jersey. If he can live up to the expectations this number represents, he’ll have done his team proud, indeed.
