Report: Texans HC Bill O’Brien hit with death threats over offseason trades

Bill O'Brien general manager

It’s no secret that Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien has been the subject of public scorn over his offseason trades, but reportedly he’s also been hit with death threats as well.

Jay Glazer of The Athletic shared this news in his weekly mailbag:

“Bill O’Brien has gotten thrashed this offseason. I know that people have sent threats his way. C’mon people, it’s just football! Let’s not send death threats or any violent threats toward anyone in any sport. It’s just sports. It’s supposed to be escapism.”

Glazer makes a salient point here. In no way should even the most ridiculous occurrences in sports lead to violent threats and death threats. Unfortunately, it happens all too often here in America.

Being upset that O’Brien traded away one of the best receivers in the game for a relative bag of peanuts is one thing. Threatening him over it is quite another. Let’s all do better, folks.
