Report: ‘Little chance’ Bengals trade No. 1 pick

With the 2020 NFL Draft less than two weeks away, it’s looking more and more like the Cincinnati Bengals will hang onto the No. 1 overall pick.

Peter King of NBC Sports, in his weekly “Football Morning in America” column, shared that “there’s little chance the Bengals will trade out of this pick.”

This is a sentiment that’s been widely shared around the league for months. In fact, it’s been reported this offseason that the only way the Bengals will trade out of this pick is if some team is desperate enough to offer a Ricky Williams-type trade for the top pick in the draft.

And of course, the reason the Bengals aren’t interested in trading the top pick is that they need a quarterback, and Ohio native Joe Burrow is seen by some as the best quarterback prospect to come into the NFL since Andrew Luck.

So, barring a miraculous turn of events, the first selection Roger Goodell will announce from his basement on April 23 will be, “The Cincinnati Bengals select Joe Burrow with the first overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.”
