The Las Vegas Raiders have not been a part of the desert community for that long. They just recently relocated to the metropolis from Northern California.

That has not stopped owner Mark Davis and Co. from do their best to be a part of #VegasStrong during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic plaguing the United States.

The Raiders announced on Friday that they will donate $1 million in cold hard cash to help the Vegas community battle the growing pandemic.

“The Las Vegas Raiders are proud to stand alongside the incredible community leaders that are doing everything that they can during this time of need,” Davis said in a statement, via the Raiders’ official website. “Health and safety is always our top priority and we’d like to salute Governor Sisolak, Jim Murren and the entire Task Force for their tireless efforts in supporting health officials and healthcare workers throughout the Silver State.”

Davis finished up his statement by saying, “Las Vegas Is Our Home. And Together We Shall Forever Be VegasStrong !!!”

Indeed, state officials have done a tremendous job helping prevent a widespread breakout of the virus within Nevada. As of Friday morning, there were less than 1,500 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 38 deaths. While those numbers will grow in the coming days, working together has helped the state.

These Raiders are now the latest example of that partnership from the sports world. It comes after their unofficial entrance into the Vegas sports scene, the 2020 NFL Draft scheduled for later this month, was pulled from Sin City due to the outbreak.
