The Green Bay Packers are making a significant contribution to their local community, distributing funds to provide for healthcare workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Packers donating $250,000 to provide PPE
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reported Thursday afternoon that the Packers are distributing $250,000 to Green Bay health care systems. This money will help provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for doctors, nurses and staff working against the COVID-19 pandemic.
This equipment will be a welcome contribution to an area that is seeing an increase in positive cases.
Per the City of Green Bay, there have been more than 1,100 positive cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak began. NBC15 in Madison, Wisc. reported Thursday that the state of Wisconsin reported its largest single-day jump in new cases, bringing the the total statewide to 6,854 positive cases.
