Joe Burrow: Bengals rookie contract details revealed

NFL Draft

Joe Burrow was the first overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft and is now set to make millions on his first contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Field Yates of ESPN shared the exact details of Burrow’s rookie contract:

This was a non-negotiable contract, as are all rookie deals under the current CBA. Thanks to the rising salary cap and NFL revenue, Burrow will earn slightly more over the course of his four-year rookie contract than last year’s No. 1 overall pick, Kyler Murray, who hauled in a deal worth just over $35.1 million — fully guaranteed.

The Bengals decided on Burrow well before the draft. After he was selected, it was reported that the rookie had already been studying Cincinnati’s playbook for weeks ahead of being the first overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. With that in mind, it sure looks like Burrow will get a chance to start earning all that money right out of the gate in 2020.
