Bulls interview disgraced former Sixers president

Bryan Colangelo

The Chicago Bulls have lacked star power since Derrick Rose was in his prime with the team nearly a decade ago. A lot of this has had to do with struggles from a front office perspective.

Chicago is now looking to change that up big time in interviewing big-name candidates to run said front office.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Chicago interviewed former Philadelphia 76ers President Bryan Colangelo for its top basketball operations position.

Bulls fans might now be asked to trust the process. Colangelo was hired as Philadelphia’s president of basketball operations back in April 2016. He proceeded to select former LSU star Ben Simmons with the first pick in that year’s draft.

Colangelo’s term in Philadelphia became known as “the process” in that he tore the team down to help build it into a contender. However, drama surrounding burner accounts he used on social media led to the longtime executive’s departure from Philadelphia in June of 2018.

Prior to his stint in Philadelphia, Colangelo served in the front offices of the Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors.
