Utah Jazz star center Rudy Gobert is considered Patient 1 around the NBA world. He tested positive for coronavirus immediately ahead of their game against the Thunder in Oklahoma City Wednesday night. It led to the NBA suspending the season.

The fallout from this has been felt throughout the sports world with other leagues suspending play. In fact, Gobert’s teammate, Donovan Mitchell, contracted the virus from him.

Now comes this damaging piece of information indicating that a child has contracted COVID-19 from Gobert.

Gobert drew criticism earlier in the week for not taking coronavirus seriously. It’s been a common recent theme around the United States. Once the World Health Organization (WHO) categorized it as a pandemic everything changed.

As schools around the United States shutter due to the disease, we’re reminded that children are also so darn vulnerable here. Gobert should have definitely taken better precaution.

Let’s hope this young one is just fine moving forward.
