Arsenal FC recently played Olympiacos two weeks ago in the Europa League and multiple Arsenal players came in contact with Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis, who tested positive for the coronavirus.
The decision was made to follow guidelines from the government and medical experts, which recommended that anyone who came into contact with someone that had the virus to self-isolate themselves for 14 days.
In the United States, the NBA, MLB and NHL have each taken recent steps to ensure the safety of their players with the spread of the coronavirus. All three leagues are also considering holding games without fans in attendance.
