At a time when everyone is doing what they can to stay safe during the COVID-19 epidemic, the Boston Red Sox found a unique way to raise awareness for staying safe.

On Tuesday, the Red Sox revealed a temporary logo to raise awareness for the importance of social distancing during a time when the coronavirus is spreading rapidly. The unique design does a nice job capturing the theme and incorporating it into the team’s iconic logo.

While the ongoing crisis continues to get worse, more professional athletes and organizations are doing whatever they can to help their communities.

Donations to COVID-19 relief efforts have been the biggest effort made to help fight against the virus. Atlanta Braves star Freddie Freeman donated $100,00 to Atlanta-based charities and Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward pledged $200,000 to Chicago-based relief efforts.

Of course, there are other ways to help as well. Several players with the Pittsburgh Pirates bought 400-plus boxes of pizza from a local pizzeria and donated it to hospital workers. Even things like this go a long way, helping businesses that are being impacted with stay-at-home orders and providing support for essential workers at hospitals who are on the front lines battling COVID-19.

Credit to the Red Sox for finding a funny way to raise awareness for more people about preventive measures they can take to help stop the spread of the virus.

According to the latest information from Johns Hopkins University, more than 50,000 people in the United States have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Tuesday.
