Arizona Cardinals superstar Chandler Jones is doing what he can to support two communities he holds dear by donating meals to food banks.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Jones “is donating over 150,000 meals to food banks in both Arizona and his hometown of Endicott, NY, to assist with families affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.”

Arizona has confirmed 509 coronavirus cases as of Thursday, with eight deaths being reported. New York is the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States, and according to CNBC the state has over 37,000 cases reported with a staggering 385 deaths — numbers that have risen dramatically in the past few days.

The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the United States economy hard, and on Thursday morning the jobs report was particularly bleak with a record 3.3 million unemployment claims being filed last week.

Needless to say, the efforts of Jones, and other athletes like him who have given so generously in this time of need, are greatly appreciated.
