Report: LSU hiring former NFL OC Scott Linehan as passing game coordinator

The LSU Tigers lost a top offensive coach to the NFL when Joe Brady joined Matt Rhule and the Carolina Panthers, but they reportedly have made quite a splash with his replacement. According to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, LSU is hiring former NFL offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to be its next passing game coordinator.

Linehan last coached for the Dallas Cowboys at the NFL level. He was Dallas’ passing game coordinator in 2014 before taking over as the offensive coordinator from 2015-18. The Cowboys fired him in 2018 in a move many felt should have included Jason Garrett, and he’s been out of coaching ever since.

Linehan has a wealth of coaching experience, having spent time at the high school, collegiate and NFL levels. His hire may give coach Ed Orgeron the juice he needs to keep pumping out talented receivers and quarterbacks in the years to come.
