Patriots met with Georgia QB Jake Fromm at NFL Combine

Jake Fromm NFL Draft

As the New England Patriots begin their early preparations at the NFL Scouting Combine to bring back Tom Brady, the team has also started preparations for the future by meeting with a quarterback who could potentially replace the future Hall of Famer.

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm revealed on Tuesday at the NFL Combine that he already met with the Patriots in an informal meeting and is looking forward to further discussions with the organization.

The 21-year-old starred at Georgia for three seasons, winning SEC Freshman of the year in 2017 then celebrated a Rose Bowl win in 2018. Fromm posted a 24-5 TD-INT ratio this past season with the Bulldogs, but saw his completion rate fall from 67.3 in 2018 to 60.8% this past season.

Fromm is currently considered a fringe first-round prospect, but will have a chance to improve his draft stock this week at the NFL Combine. If negotiations between the Patriots and Brady don’t go well, it’s clear the organization is already preparing plans for its future at quarterback.
