Lions re-sign veteran WR Danny Amendola

One less veteran receiver is off the market ahead of free agency opening up next month.

The Detroit Lions on Monday announced that they have re-signed two-time Super Bowl champ Danny Amendola. Terms of the deal have not been released.

Amendola, 34, put up 62 receptions for 678 yards and a touchdown in his first season with Detroit after spending the previous five years with the New England Patriots.

It was a solid performance from a veteran who signed a mere one-year, $4.5 million contract last March.

This move also comes with the Lions potentially in the midst of sweeping changes.

Rumors have popped up that quarterback Matthew Stafford could be on the trade block. Meanwhile, Detroit has had trade discussions surrounding Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay.
